Finished some things

I finished some things before Christmas and am finally making a blog about it. I really needed time to relax and do other things. I make my daughter’s dress which kind of turned out looking vintage. But it’s ok I’ll probably take off skirt and leave as shirt. I finished all the ornaments I wanted to do. I finished the hanging towels and the matching placemats for my mother in law.

I went through all my old photos I had and starting scrapbooking them. Made my niece and nephew personalized tumblers. One is Minecraft the other is a rapper. There teens it’s what they like. Which of course I didn’t take pictures of apparently. I’m really not good at taking pictures of things I do. But I did make one for my daughter and husband. His is punisher and vw.

I’ve already got an even bigger list of things I want to do soon. I got to make things for my niece’s first birthday. I need to finish bags and wanted to make myself a coat. So excited about the coat I never make anything for myself.

Strange days

I don’t know why but the closer I get to Christmas the less free time I have. I have someone staying with me, my daughter’s schooling,been babysitting more, and dinners taking longer. Today I watched my niece she left I started dinner got that set and starting my daughter’s schooling. Everything took way longer and by time I was able to sew or make gifts it was 8pm and almost time for my daughter’s bath. I got two more towels done and cut fabric for some of the placemats. Main word is some. I feel like I’m way behind. Hard to know what to get teens like shit I don’t know. They all just hang in there rooms all day or with there friends. Kids are easy you go by age. But teens so dramatic and if you get them something a little childish they’re too cool for it if you get them something overly mature they act like for old people only. Really not a fan of teens. I was really never that way I really didn’t care I liked what I liked. Ok going to watch random show.

Even more procrastinating with starting new project

Ok woke up early didn’t want to wake up my child as early so I made Christmas ornaments. I painted them yesterday but today I decorated them. I used embossing powder and tired using blow dryer to melt but didn’t work so had to put in oven. Which really sucks it was only reason I bought a blow dryer. So that’s lame. Also added some glitter and they came out adorable.

After that I decided to make blueberry jam and it came out so good. I did cut out padding for the placemats I need to start so there’s that. Yet at same time I decided I needed to make four sets of four so 16 placemats before Christmas.

Then I decided to make quesdillas from scratch including the flour tortillas and the jalapeno sauce. But they came out delicous also. My daughter loved them of course my significant other was like there ok. But ignore him the mans idea of good food is peanut butter and jelly or cereal for dinner. Yeah like seriously and he’s 33 I don’t understand it either eats like five year old.

Tomorrow hoping to make at least one placemat mostly to get idea of what I want it to look like. So wish me luck.

Working on my to do list

I used old top sheet fabric and rest is fabric I bought

Got a lot done yesterday yet at the same time procrastinating. I need to make my mother in-law placemats should be the first thing I do. But what do I do I embroidered the fabric for the makeup bags I need finished by may. Then I decide to recover my ironing boards. After that I cut out and sew eight pairs of jammy pants for my daughter and my niece and a jammy top. Im getting things done but I also keep making more things to do. Like I already decided to make my daughter a bag does she need it now definitely not. Yet still most likely going to make today.

It was thick

I like adding small bows or cute things to my daughter’s clothes. It’s also helps make sure she will actually wear it. Went through patch were she wouldn’t wear anything I made. Last year I was a dinosaur for Halloween and had lots of green flannel left over I made a pair of pants for my niece and my daughter was upset she wanted green paints. I was honestly going to try to dye them to better color but I guess she likes. Also my daughter wants the little ironing board I recovered so cute.

Finished some things

I’m so glad was busy all day. And I did a lot of sewing yesterday and I got alot done. I made my niece two eye mask for her birthday.

I made my other niece some pants and tested a shirt pattern that I made out of a old shirt I had.

Used an old shirt so wouldn’t have to waste fabric if it didn’t fit

I made my daughter some pants as well and a pajama pants and jammy dress.

Now they have matching pants

I also made a pair of jammy pants for myself. It was the first time I made anything for myself. I make lots of things but usually for other people. I sew for my daughter. Scrapbook and make jewelry for my mother in-law. Cook for my significant other. Paint things for my daughter’s room.

Im going to start shirt for my daughter with another old shirt of mine. Really got to get on makeup gift bags and placemats.

Gingerbread Done

Sloppy but perfectly mine and my daughter’s gingerbread house

I finally did it. I made my homemade gingerbread house. I made the dough recipe which I kinda hated but came out good. Here’s the recipe.

Construction gingerbread house recipe

Ingredients

1 cup light corn syrup

1 cup honey

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

1 1/4 cups margarine

9 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon ground ginger

2 teaspoons ground cloves

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions melt butter add sugar honey and corn syrup. In big bowl add flour spices and salt. Slowly add wet mixture while you mix. I used my rarely used KitchenAid mixer. My mixer had hard time because so much. Supposed to let sit for half hour but I didn’t and it was fine. Really didn’t need four to roll out either. Took me while to cook all the pieces so my oven was on a while. Made royal icing for the glue frosting. That recipe is just about a pound of powder sugar to two egg whites beat until stiff. If after five minutes still lose need more sugar.

I added the sides let sit for five minutes then added the roof. Then let sit for 20 minutes and amazingly it didn’t fall apart.

Decorated it with my daughter she did pretty good job.

Unlike most people I got candy that looked good but my daughter wouldn’t eat. She eats candy with her daddy all the time. We decorated for fun not to eat candy. I also don’t have to worry about her picking at it cause she doesn’t like the candy so double win.

Loved making this with my daughter. I have never made gingerbread homemade. I always bought kits. Honestly probably cheaper to make kit but always wanted to make once. I also not really a fan of gingerbread spice smell. Idk if I’ll do again but was glad I did it. Planning on destroying when holiday is over.

I am a huge procrastinator. I’m supposed to make eight bags for a wedding shower. I also have to make my mother in law placemats for Christmas. I also randomly volunteered to make my niece pajamas pants and some other pants. On top of that I randomly started making my daughter pajamas. And last thing I volunteered to make some face mask for friends. I am done buying fabric for while and plan on doing this all before end of year. I’m not a fan of new years resolutions but this is my end of year resolution. I am going to make everything I mentioned and yes more cause I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t have a rediculous amount of projects already planned. I’m going to take back my projects and get stuff done. Here come what will probably be a endlessly expanding list of my planned projects for my end of year finisher.

I know I’m forgetting so much but this is a start. So I’m going to start but like always i jump around on projects in haphazard way that makes little to no sense. But I’m determined to get things done. So wish me luck and I’ll show what I do.
